Monday 16 June – Skerries Red Island

Workshops : 10 to 11 am : Paul D’Arcy Free introductory Talk & 11 am to 1 pm : James Moore Drawing

Skerries is a picturesque coastal town located in County Dublin, Ireland, about 32 km (20 miles) north of Dublin city. It is known for its scenic views, historic harbour, and vibrant community. Skerries sits along the Irish Sea and boasts a mix of sandy beaches, rocky shorelines, and beautiful islands like the Skerries Islands, which are home to seabirds and wildlife.

Farmleigh-house-dublin-plein-air

Tuesday 17 June – Farmleigh House

Workshop : 10 am to 1 pm : Steve Browning Acrylic Workshop

Farmleigh House is a historic estate located in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Built in the 18th century, it originally served as a private residence for the famous Guinness brewing family before being purchased by the Irish government in 1999. The house is now used as a state guesthouse for visiting dignitaries and welcomes Dublin Plein Air every year.

Wednesday 18 June – National Botanic Gardens

Workshop : 10 am to 1 pm : Henry Mc Grane Workshop – Oils

The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin is a serene haven for artists, offering lush landscapes, vibrant flowers, and stunning architectural features like Victorian glasshouses. Its tranquil environment inspires creativity, making it an ideal spot for sketching or painting, with nature’s beauty providing endless artistic inspiration.

Thursday 19 June – Balbriggan Martello Tower

Workshop : 10 am to 1 pm : Deirdre Shanny Workshop – Oils

The Balbriggan Martello Tower is a historic coastal structure built in the early 19th century to defend against French invasion. Located near the beach, it offers stunning views of the Irish Sea. Today, it serves as a reminder of Ireland’s military past and is a popular spot for visitors and artists alike.

Ardgillan-Castle-Dublin-Plein-Air

Friday 20 June – Ardgillan Castle

Workshop : 10 am to 1 pm : Kate Kos Watercolour Workshop

Ardgillan Castle has a stunning 18th-century estate perched on a hill overlooking the Irish Sea. With breathtaking views of the Mourne Mountains in the distance, it’s a perfect spot for artists. The expansive parkland, dramatic coastal scenery, and serene atmosphere provide endless inspiration for all artistic endeavours.

Dunsink Observatory Dublin

Saturday 21 June – Dunsink Observatory

Workshop : 10 am to 1 pm : Neal Greig URUA Workshop – Oils

This year, on the summer solstice, our painting festival visits Ireland’s Dunsink Observatory.  Which is the oldest purpose-built scientific research centre in Ireland, having opened in 1785 as the observatory attached to Trinity College Dublin. It will be a very special day.

Malahide castle and gardens

Sunday 22 June – Malahide Castle and Gardens

Workshop : 10 am to 1 pm : Blaise Smith RHA Workshop – Oils

Malahide is a charming coastal town in North Dublin, with Malahide Castle, a historic 12th-century estate. This year we are returning to the beautiful walled garden part of the Malahide Castle. The town itself also boasts a scenic marina, perfect for sailing and strolls by the water. A wonderful place for artists.
